guess what happened after the first called time out of the AUDL game in DC this weekend.....
guess.
turnover.
i failed to keep track of the rest....EXCEPT for DCs third called time out of the 1st half. it resulted in a turnover, because teams are only allowed 2 per half.
so folks...right there....of the two specific time outs that i can recall...2 turn overs.
know what they say, right? 95% of all time outs result in a turnover.

Formally iUltimate, we changed our name when we built an android version of our app and a new web app for viewing. Your team might have stats on here already, search for your team and check yourselves out!

We'd love feedback on any of the three applications, but specifically the web app (example: http://www.ultianalytics.com/app/index.html#/547186671825715 2/players). We want to try and make the stat viewer powerful enough to help you analyze your team in a constructive manner, with the intent to bring objective analytics into frisbee conversations.

Anything you're willing to give us in terms of constructive feedback would be incredible, things like: "It'd be great if you could build something that did..." or "I don't understand what this diagram means..." or (hopefully very few of these) "Something's broken. I'm on chrome 31 for mac and ... isn't loading."

Things on the backburner that we plan on developing over the coming months (and would love ideas for):

-A page that will allow you to view various stats designed to show who plays well together, and what players most help the team win. It's in the very beginning stages of beta right now; if you'd like to see it now then just change the end of the web-app url to /line instead of /players or /games.

-Live game viewing. Not video, but something to the tune of nfl.com's live game viewer, where you watch the stats unfold in a live game fashion.

-Any good ideas you guys come up with!

Thanks for looking!

Hey Fellow Ulti Players,

My biz partner and I are selling our website, PlayUlty.Com. The reason: we don't have any time to continue operating the website. We'd like it to go to someone(s) who are passionate about the game and are interested in having a nice, established e-commerce website selling Ultimate educational and lifestyle products.

You can see more details here:

https://flippa.com/3066757-playulty-com-established-ultimate -frisbee-store-with-big-potential

If interested, please ping me directly at seppo[at]playulty[dot]com. We can work a deal outside of using Flippa.

Cheers!

The St. Louis Ultimate community is excited to announce Heatwave, a mixed tournament located in St. Louis, MO from June 28-29, 2014. St. Louis is centrally located to several cities in the Midwest and South, where there's a ton of great ultimate being played. We are in the process of searching for sponsorship but rest assured that this USAU sanctioned tournament will be a great way for your team to get some sanctioned games in and develop some chemistry.

In terms of USAU categories, this will be a "competitive classic" tournament - all teams are welcome, but teams that are registered with USAU will receive 'credit' for games against other registered teams, which eventually helps determine sectional bids to regionals.

Date: 6/28-29, 2014
Location: Forest Park (Central Fields) St. Louis, MO
Number of teams: 8-12 mixed teams
Fee: Cheap! $275/team before 6/1; $325/team after 6/1
Email: stlheatwave (at) gmail (dot) com
Website (submit bids here): http://stlheatwave.weebly.com/
USAU website: http://play.usaultimate.org/events/St-Louis-Heat-Wave/

Email or post here with any questions. Looking forward to see you!

Hey all,

Middle GA State College is hosting a tourney on May 10th and 11th. If you live in the middle GA area, it's a great opportunity since there aren't many tourneys around here.

Low cost of $20. Includes a t shirt. You can gather a team or sign up individually or with one partner. Partners/individuals are put into hat tourney-like teams. Weird tourney format, but we're just trying to develop interest in the area.

Have 6 teams worth of players signed up right now, would love some more!
Also, if you want a t shirt, have to sign up by Thursday. Sorry for late deadline

I am about to have a lot of time with just an iPad, was wondering if anyone has found an app that is good for diagramming plays, offense/defense, zones, etc.

Hoping to produce a playbook for my team before the club season gets started. I normally use inkscape on my desktop, but going to be away from the computer for a bit.

Any suggestions?

Down with the Clown - June 28th-29th
Hoosier Hodown - July 12th-13th
Heavyweights - Aug 23rd-24th

Starting at 2:00pm we will use this time to find out who is interested in playing this summer and at what level of play each individual is at. We want to encourage you to attend that weekend. You would already know this if you followed the FCS on twitter @FCStourney.......

The Furniture City Shootout is thrilled to announce that the UOA will be officiating the finals of the tournament as well working randomly scheduled games during pool play on Saturday and beyond. It will be a unique opportunity for the players to be able to experience Officiated ultimate first hand. I feel this is where the future of our sport lies as we strive to become more notable and respected.

At the other end of the spectrum, the showcase game on Saturday featuring Surly and Boneyard will be played under the current WUCC rules in preparation for their trip to Italy and the world championships. This means no observers or officials and some slightly different rules. I'm not 100% up to speed yet, but I know for one that there is no continuation on picks and stuff.

At FCS 2014 players and fans will have the opportunity to play and witness ultimate in a few slightly different forms. This will leave us all a little more informed and even with some first hand experience the next time we debate refs vs observers vs sotg.

In summary, we have a lot of moving parts at FCS 2014. First, a very strong field including national powers Chain, Ring, Boneyard, Surly, as well as Dire Wolf and John Doe from the select flight. There will be prize money available of at least $300 as well as prize packs offered by Savage Ultimate.

Don't forget the FREE COOKOUT for players and fans on Saturday as play ends and during the showcase game.

Bid deadline is May 19. Email me your bid.

So I was reading today about this new team forming in Pennsylvania. They sound like an ideal candidate for the Furniture City Shootout June 7-8 in High Point, NC. I know a new team with high goals for the season would benefit greatly from playing the top competition available at FCS. Does anyone have the contact info for these guys so I can send them an email?

Dire Wolf is excited to be entering our 5th season, and is proud to represent Pittsburgh at USA Ultimate's Elite Select Flight Challenge this summer. Dire Wolf focuses on hard work, commitment, and camaraderie to develop all players as individuals and as a team. Since 2010, we have improved as a team and seen increased numbers at tryouts. We had more than 70 players tryout in 2013, and are excited to see that number grow this year. With the increased interest in Dire Wolf, we are planning on helping a younger developmental team form this year as well.

Dire Wolf has a tryout process that uses rolling cuts. This process allows a fair and transparent way for us to provide late tryouts to players who are unable to tryout until June or July. There will be a free and open Combine on Saturday, May 10 from 10:00am-3:00pm at Lower O'Hara Field, followed by pickup at Lower O'Hara from 12:00-3:00pm on Sunday, May 11. Tryouts will begin the following weekend. We are primarily Pittsburgh based, but we have worked with out-of-town players in the past.

Hello Frisbee Women of the Midwest!

First off, I hope your season is going well! My name is Elle Yesnes, and I played with and now coach the Drake Women's Frisbee team, anyway, I am looking into the interest of creating a women's club team based out of Central Iowa, most likely Des Moines. Right now this is just an interest survey that I would love if you could pass on to your team or any other ladies who may be interested.

Thanks in advance

Again, thank you! And good look with the series!
