Greetings chicago-area college captains, players or anyone who knows any of first two...

Congrats on your successful season and now that it has come to an end...how would you like to earn money towards your 2013-2014 season while getting a tan on the beach, watching some sweet ultimate and attend the biggest annual ultimate party in the Midwest?

Ultimate Chicago Sandblast 2013 is coming soon and we are looking to partner with Chicago-area college teams to support while you support us.

Over the weekend of July 12-14, we are offering...
*Free tickets to Friday night AUDL Windy City Wildfire game versus Detroit Mechanix at lane tech high school
*Breakfast, lunch and drinks at Montrose beach Saturday and Sunday
*Invite to 900-person tourney extravaganza with entry, drinks and entertainment at Joe's bar on weed street (21 and over only)
......and...CASH!

Even if majority of team are not 21, still an amazing offer for an even more amazing weekend.

We are looking for help both days with setting up/taking down fields and tents, unloading and loading sponsor product donations, collecting scores and general beach pick-up roughly between 7-6 pm both days. Based on return and increase of volunteer support year-after-year, it is very manageable, enjoyable and allows time to get sun, get rest, get wet and watch other teams compete, too.

We only need a team or two so please get back to me with interest or questions as soon as possible. We would like but do not require full teams so even if a few can make/commit this far out, please message me.

Best ultimate wishes, adam/twirly

We now have seven of the 16 High School Division spots filled for Ultimate Chicago Sandblast 2013. The discounted registration of just $360 per team ($30 per player) has been extended until Sunday, June 16th so please take advantage and get registered TODAY! After the 16th, not only will the registration cost increase to $420 per team ($35 per player), the registration will no longer include the limited edition, High School Division commemorative disc.

http://www.chicagosandblast.com/high-school

This great value gives your team the opportunity to join the 12 year and counting tradition of Sandblast on your own Foster Avenue Beach with at least four games and refreshments including bagels, fruit, water, Potbelly's lunch.

Your registration includes a limited edition 2013 Ultimate Chicago Sandblast High School Division disc (only through Sunday) and each player participant also receives a ticket to the Friday, July 12th Windy City Wildfire game at Lane Tech Stadium versus the Detroit Mechanix. Wow!

Big thanks to HS Division Manager Arnoush "Java" Javaherian and please message him at chicagoultimatetraining AT gmail DOT com with any questions and to express your interest or you can email Event Director Adam "Twirly" Levy at Adam AT UPChicago DOT com.

Thank you for your time, interest and support of this great opportunity.

Best ultimate wishes

On Sunday the San Francisco Dogfish take on the Portland Stags at Kezar Stadium. This is the start of a sports double-header, with the Bay Area Breeze professional women’s soccer team taking on the Colorado Rush at 7:00 PM following the Dogfish-Stags game. Admission to the Dogfish game also gets you admission to see the Breeze.

The double-header represents the theme for this week’s game: Promoting Women in Sports. The Dogfish half time will feature a showcase match by the 15-time national champion Berkeley All Blues women’s rugby club.

For the next two weeks, the MLU will donate one dollar of every ticket sold to relief efforts associated with this tornado. Proceeds will go to the OKStrong Disaster Relief Fund which is dedicated to addressing the long term needs of those affected by this disaster. Those inspired to give themselves can do so through the OKStrong site. Spread the word using the Twitter handle #MLUCares.

Tickets are available here: http://mlultimate-sanfrancisco-dogfish.ticketleap.com/portla nd-stags-at-san-francisco-dogfish-june-02-2013/

I'm inundated with the lovely problem of having so much Ultimate to watch, I can barely choose how to spend my limited time.

Watched part of the Women's DIII championships. Probably should have gone into it with more realistic expectations.

Then watched the MLU Vancouver Nighthawks vs. Seattle Rainmakers. Close game, fun to watch, looks enough like the Ultimate I'm used to that it was more accessible than the AUDL games I've seen: fewer wanton hucks; hard-nosed D. Not sure the field dimensions are any different, but either the MLU field was smaller, or the players made it look smaller. High level of play. The players were into it and played hard. On the other hand, there definitely appeared to be a lack of passion compared to regular College or Club team play.

Is the NextGen league going to happen? Guess I should pay more attention to Ultiworld.

So... so many games to watch, what are your favorite online-available options out there? I hear "I Bleed Black" is on YouTube. That's next on my list.

More news and notes. It's rapidly turning into Yelp around here, but that was the whole point. What should you be doing when you're not watching the games. Ask a local where to go (they are plentiful, and easily recognizable by the plumper sausage casing fit of their Hodag Blue), thank a volunteer, and Pick up your trash.

This game was only available for viewing twice. TWICE. Why is this finals game nowhere to be found anywhere on the internet? I certainly hope the games this year don't have the same fate.

When the 2013 season of the AUDL began, everyone assumed that the Midwest Division was already done. The rankings would go:

1) Chicago
2) Minnesota
3) Madison
4) Detroit
5) Indianapolis
6) Cincinnati

However, the season hasn't gone like that at all. Madison Radicals have defeated Minnesota Wind Chill in two straight match-ups, and are looking to take the third from them in their meeting this Friday, May 24th, at Madison.

This happens to also be the weekend of USAU College Nationals, which is being hosted in the Madison area, as well as one of the days at Uxtv will be streaming the game live.

Minnesota is in a must win mode, as they are currently 2-5 and have the worst record in the Midwest division. For any chance to make it to the playoffs (the top 2 of each division go), they need to get some W's. Their schedule doesn't get any easier, as they face Madison 2 more times and Chicago 2 more times.

Meanwhile, Madison has only to face Chicago one more time this season, while they have yet to see Indianapolis or Cincinnati, both of whom have losing records. They will meet each team 3 times in the coming months.

Here is the event information from Facebook, including a link to Uxtv's stream:

That's right, the Madison Radicals are at home and planning on having a blast as they face their rivals, Minnesota Wind Chill! Come out and have a blast!

Did we mention that buying your $6 ticket gets you a free beer at The Great Dane (located in downtown Madison)? Now you know.

This is a game for the American Ultimate Disc League (AUDL) team Madison Radicals, who are in their inaugural season with the AUDL.

Madison Radicals (4-2) host the Minnesota Wind Chill (2-5) for the 2nd time this season (3rd meeting overall). Radicals will look to continue their win-streak over Wind Chill, as they won 22-20 and 19-15 in their first two encounters. They will also look to win their 2nd game in a row and improve their home record to 3-1

Game time has been changed to 7:30pm to help ensure people can make it out from USAU College Nationals, hosted in Verona, WI. This game will be streamed live online for $3.99 by Uxtv Network. Follow this link to purchase the game: http://bit.ly/YsyTz8

Our amazing sponsor, The Great Dane, will be providing 1 free 12oz mug beer with a Radicals Ticket Stub after the game. Come out and enjoy some amazing beer with the team after the game.

The Furniture City Shootout has merged forces with Savage Ultimate and will now be the open portion of the Old Dominion Shootout. You can register your team now at.....

summerseries.savageultimate.com

There is cash as well as prizes to be won. (more than is being offered at the Spin tourney by the way)

The top five teams qualify for the Charleston Cup where even more cash and prizes are available.

The venue is sweet and the tourney will be highly competitive. Don't miss out on the opportunity to start your season off on a high note.
