Matt is being too modest. Yetti (Matt Costello) is a good player, but Matt Bennett belongs on this list instead of Yetti. (I don't know enough about Hidaka or Francis to comment on how they compare with Yetti.)

Matt is being very modest and he only put defenders on that list, probably because he was guarded by them.
Here are the people I saw over the weekend (and this is as objective as I get):
1st team:
Jimmy Mickle, CO - Won the Finals pretty much by himself, best college Ultimate player I've seen in a while.
Will Driscoll, Texas - Drove the UT offense with his cuts and catches.
Will Campbell, Texas - Navigated the UT offense with his cuts and breaks. Got a great layout on Mickle only to be massively overthrown for the bookends. 5th year, 4th for UT after transferring from UTSA.
Matt Bennett, ATM - Great throws, sometimes too great, but more scores than turns. Will be on this list for the next few.
Kevin Christian, OU - He IS OU's offense. Never a team played them this year that they weren't concerned with shutting him down and really noone could...the lefty advantage. He also led a savage team to a couple wins on Sunday.
Brett Hidaka, Kansas - Great defense, great athlete, typical KU style. Didn't like the guy when I played them, but what more can you ask from Kansas? He drove the team with his intensity and mouth.
Darius Tse, UNT - I can't stress it enough, he played otherworldly Saturday, it's too bad his team couldn't support him and his play. One of the nicest guys on the field, looks intimidating as hell, but he really is a sweetheart. Massive layout Ds and skys were routine. And really this is his first (and last) Regionals to be fully healthy and it showed.
Others that should make Second, considered for First or just should be mentioned:
#42 for Colorado - I don't know who Gamsky is, could be this guy. He got 3-4 Ds that flipped the game on UT.
Mitch Bennett, UT - another lefty dirty. He knows how to play in the UT Vert and it was beautiful to watch.
Dalton Smith, ATM - He had the impact on his team's success like an All-Region-er should. Should be FOTY 1st or 2nd, pending Austin Walker's last minute campaign strategies.
Joe Young, KU - Everyone was talking about Vinny doing his thing on their O-line, but I saw Joe (#4) running the show with breaks and cuts up the line, running the timeless KU handler offense.
Abe Coffin, Ark - The guy has great throws and puts them where the O needs em. He reminds me sort of Dylan Freechild with that backhand.
Eric Kearney, Ark - Overall great athlete and kept Arkansas close in the UT game with Ds and runs for hucks.
Teams I didn't see at all:
WashU, KState, Baylor, UTA.
Teams I did see but didn't have the one standout:
Texas State - these guys played a great weekend, they were a faceless army of guys that just play. They had just as much a hand in ATM losing the backdoor as UT or Kansas - they made them run a lot in their first game Sunday to tire them a bit for KU.
Colorado State, Colorado College.

THIS. I didn't know who he was, just #4, but he was ruining people on the field. Get this man a vote.

Having been benched by my stupid knee, I think I got an "objective" view of the fields at regionals, at least for the teams that I had a pleasure to watch and those that Texas State happened to play.
Jimmy Mickle should be obvious by now
Will Driscoll still obvious
Will Campbell excellent defender and transition player. Had the opportunity to be matched up against him on a fairly dry field at Mardi Gras and he forced me to change my cut numerous times to get open, especially as the reset handler.
Matt Bennett was the person at Texas State we put our best defender on. His level of throws, notably his break-mark throws and bullshit throws, really sparked the A&M offense. Because of Bennett, A&M always had a reliable reset and was able to keep the disc on the break side, making it hard for any defense to function properly
Yetti also the other person Texas State looked to stop, but with little results. He's a solid athlete with some pretty sweet layouts, but what really impressed me during State's game against A&M at regionals was his ability to come under and kick start the offense from the handler position and put up some money hucks where only his player could get to.
Kevin Christian Like Brooks said, he is OU's offense. When he wasn't every other in our games against him he was making a deep cut from the handler position just to put on the brakes and get a 30-yard under. His break mark throws are so well rounded that it is hard to stop. If you go to stop the high backhand he goes with the low inside break.
Darius Tse one of my favorite people to be around both on and off the field. On he's running teams with his big ups and effortless inside flick breaks. He also has some stellar layouts, like the one against State where he came from the deep deep in UNT's zone to get a 10+ yard layout on a wing cutter. Filty. Off the field he has got to be top 5 on my list of nicest people I've ever met.
Joe Young this was the guy who Texas State looked to shut down on defense. I didn't see much from Hidaka because I was more worried about getting my team to stop KU's break side domination, which came from Joe.
Cameron Hunter unfortunately for Kansas State, they had a very small roster this weekend (not OU small by any means) so fatigue showed during our game against them. Cameron, though, was ripping low release flick hucks to space all game long and our team had one way to make a play on them because they were hitting receivers in stride.
#13, Colorado College this guy was running the show for Colorado College. Any break throw he wanted he got, whether it was around backhands, inside flicks, or lefty high releases. He anchored a rebuilding a team with solid hucks from either side during a wet Sunday morning.
Dalton Smith incredible athlete for a freshman. Was constantly matching up against Texas State's biggest deep threats all season long. Throws aren't quite there but those will come with time. All 7 times this school year that Texas State has had the pleasure of playing A&M, Dalton has had a significant role in A&M's D-line conversion rate. I love his physicality and drive to make every play count (had some nasty layout attempts at our game at regionals). Unlike what Brooks said, I'm out of "campaign strategies" because I couldn't play most of this spring season due to a shitty timed ACL tear, so the Freshman of the Year I think should go to Dalton for his incredible plays all year long and being there to tear it up for his team at regionals.
- Austin Walker, Texas State

Normally we don't like to post, hyping up our own players, however a few of our players have been mentioned by number and I believe they deserve to receive proper recognition.
First off there is no Jake Gamsky. The player that people are referring to is #63, James Mitchell. He's a senior on the team and is one of the top defenders in the region, if not the country. In the highlights from Stanford you can see him (in his patented Flannel) get a deep D against Tyler DeGirolamo (2:42 in the video) and then he subsequently performs a greatest. In addition to his defense he has hucks, break throws, and runs our D line. He should be in the conversation for all-region.

Other players that were mentioned:
#24 Jackson Kloor. Jackson is another senior on the team and is one of my co-captains. He has played the last 2 years with Johnny Bravo. He is a dominant cutter in both the college, and club game, and deserves consideration for all-region.
#42 is Matt Bubernak. Matt is a freshman on the team this year and was the guy that had 2-3 layout Ds in the finals vs Texas.
