Now, there is SO much quoted texted when people want to reference an earlier post. Any way to allow us to cut that down for the sake of readability?

Maybe a "Show Quoted Text" button to hide it when its not needed?

How do you do quoted text? Do you have to click the "quote" button and then copy and paste stuff in? Or is there an automatic way to do it?

Really? You hit the button. That's it.

Ok. I hit the button. Now what? Copy and paste? Or did I hit the wrong button?

Really.

Oh. You hit "quote" instead of "reply." Got it. Never considered that when replying I'd hit something other than reply.

if you want to only quote a small portion of the text, you can copy and paste the selected text into the reply box, then click on the "add quote" block above the reply box (in between the "B" and "Size" options").

I don't mind the quote blocks as much as when people like Toad and Gerics quote 18 different people

and then respond

to each question

and it's a pain in the ass to read. but i imagine they're quoting from the yahoo group rather than rsdnospam. Of course, most of their replies aren't worth reading anyway.

This is the issue with getting things formatted on this site. If everyone used the site and the built-in quoting method things would be easier to read but everyone likes their own way of interacting with RSD.
