What would the commentators even say about this final? Is there a such thing as a wind delay? The national championship shouldn't be decided in 35 mph wind

The NC region finals were decided in such conditions. If you want to have a controlled environment play indoors.

Correction: 50 MPH crosswind. I've played in this before. Not fun. Key is to play plinko.

Was it really this awful? That game was decided 14-11. I don't know if the teams combined will have a score of 11 by the end of the game.

There is no way CBS will actually televise this. It's like watching paint dry.

Imagine how brutal it would have been had this been the women's final.

gotta agree with that. i'm not sure why they haven't tried a give and go with the resets not being guarded at all. you're only gonna get up to 5yds at a time - at most - and it's gonna take 50 or more throws, but shit, if the D is gonna stay in loose cup like that, and you have 2-3 guys who are worth a shit with throws, it's manageable. it's better than what i'm seein' right now.

feel sorry for the statitician -- counting turnovers should be a fairly shitty job.

I've got to think there's no way USA Ultimate will want this televised.

Not even refs and matching hats could save this.

Incidentally, for those who missed it, the women's final was very, very fun to watch. After a couple of years of 'gritty' women's games dominated by zone D and frequent turnovers, it was fun to see how far the women's game has come in terms of individual throwing skills and athleticism.

Before the game started, the wind blew over all the sponsor signs lining the field. Then it blew over the metal and wood sponsor boards in the endzone. Then it blew the 15 foot tall, staked down, inflatable alt games gateway OVER the 20 foot fence. Then it literally blew the roofs off the merchandise tents.

The last time I played in Boulder (looong time ago, one of the last Boulder 4th of July tourneys) it was so windy it blew the porta-potties over. I don't think anyone was in them.
