The only Ultimate Quadruple Crown Winner I know is Buzz Ellsworth. It
takes winning a National Championship in 4 out of the 5 divisions to
achieve this feat. The five divisions are youth, college, club (open,
women's, mixed), masters and grand masters.

Does anyone know of others who might have won a national championship
in 4 out of the 5 divisions?

BTW, I know of 31 Triple Crown Winners.

Buzzy Smellsworth, what an awesome human being. Middlebury used to
play his Zoo teams all the time-and scoop him up as a ringer any time
we could.

Sam Kanner's won youth, college, club. He's not old enough for masters yet.

Would UPA rules allow an M2F to play womens? Does UPA define gender? Couldn't he undergo transition now, win womens and wait to win madams, then just play Masters and Grandmasters as a woman (i.e. as an 'open' player)? What would the UPA's stance on Caster Semenya be? I thought that debate was fascinating. Genuinely curious.

Good point...he could win all 5 he has to go as a woman: women's mixed, madams, masters, gmasters

plus if he played mixed as a woman he would draw favorable matchups

I smell a hollywood hit!

p.s. can we please please please continue to call lady masters division madams?????

Besides being a waste of time to talk about sex changes, it would not
impact how many crowns someone would have:
- Open, Women's and Mixed are all in the same division. So no matter
how many of each someone wins, they still only get one crown.
- Open Masters and Women's Masters are in the same division. So no
matter if someone wins both, they still only have one crown.

So, does anyone know if someone might have won a national championship
in 4 out of these 5 divisions?
1. Youth (open, girls or mixed)
2. College (open or women's)
3. Club (open, women's and/or mixed)
4. Masters (open or women's)
5. Grand Masters

[some other stuff]

4. Masters (open or women's)

Speak for yourself!

And I believe it's pronounced, "Madams"

You mean you have to own a whorehouse to play? This could be my kind
of team.

Now I remember why I left rsd months ago for the new USAU Forum... so
kick me for forgetting and coming back.

The jerks have taken over... and Toad hasn't even chimed in yet. Or is
he hiding in 3Jane?

Joe, it was a joke, no disrespect intended. BTW, I am not Toad.

The first youth championship was in 1998, so none of them are even
eligible for masters yet. And there have only been what, two grand
master championships? Seems like not a lot of room for someone to slip
through the cracks.

Sensitive Seidler over here...

seriously though, does the UPA define gender? At some point,
guaranteed, this WILL be an issue.

Perhaps gender will be a USAU issue in the future, but it will never
impact this thread. Feel free to start another one on any topic you
are interested in.

Ryan, many thanks for your serious reply.
