I think I'd lie to him and say that at high-level tournaments we box
kangaroos and shotgun entire kegs.

sadistically funny.

many years ago, a team captain of mine (retsu takahashi) answered:
"it's called ultimate because each player on the field is the ultimate
arbiter of the rules."

for more historical accuracy, check out _Ultimate: the First Four
Decades_. something about joel silver saying "it's like the most
awesome game ever; it's the ultimate sport!" ...or something...

yes, land mines is more interesting.

i think spirit zealots would reply...."because ther are no
refs".......for me, its because its played with a disc. but in
reality, its just another sport.....so there is really nothing special
(or ultimate) about it. It could be a helluva lot more special
though, if it were made to be enjoyed by more people on different
levels.

Hmm... loss of possession due to ground contact... or being blown the
f*#$ up?

Observer says: Goal! ... and a damn fine way to acknowledge the score.

It's called Ultimate for all the ultimate recognition we receive world
wide resulting from our years of hardwork and financial output.
