I was surprised to see no talk about the UPA Election Results up
here. But, I guess that's not too surprising when you look at some of
the numbers. A record turnout over 1,692 votes cast out of over
27,300 voters is approximately 16% of the UPA membership voting..

The result: most people don't give a fuck.

I give a fuck and I'm proud of Gwen for getting the At-Large spot and
I think most of the candidates (with a couple exceptions) were well
qualified and would do an excellent job. Fetch got a lot of votes for
being from Chico and I'm stoked all the candidates put forth the
effort because they actually care and want to improve the sport.

The next best thing for the UPA has been Cultimate attempting to bring
what the people want to College Ultimate. A lot of people bitch...see
most of RSD and few people do anything about it. Good for Cultimate
for introducing a little competition to the arena and forcing some
real evolution in the game. As much as people hate on them their
contribution will bring more benefits for Ultimate players than a
million posts on RSD.

For those who actually give a shit here are the results copied from
the UPA page:

My guess is you missed the thread since Frank started it. Frank
cares, although he pretends he doesn't. Less votes then Peri. Poor
poor Frank.

uhhhh, dude, i might not know how to spell but any dumbass should know
that 1692 is 10% if 16,920......which is a fuck of a lot less than
27K.

So a lot less people give a fuck than you think. care to take a stab
at what percentage less?

The fact is that the whole election, and therefore the representation,
is a complete joke. Hopefully gwen will represent though. Untill she
proves she can get her team to hold the line on pulls in unobserved
comp the jury will be out though.

Wow, it's been a while since somebody called me Matthew.
I kind of like the sound of that.
I'm in good company with the likes of John Garb and Karl Doege, that's
for sure.

Ken Dobyns didn't get any write in votes? I'm surprised.

During MLC I heard a player refer to Toadie Leber as that "Mr. one-
three-one guy."

That nickname just might stick.

sooo ready to retire (to great grand masters div, that is). But
thanks for the write in -- it had to be you, right? ; )

well we're gonna need you in 2009 in the GM division as competition is
getting fierce.
Putting the undefeated CIGAR team back together, and without your
pulls and fan base we don't stand a chance.
