I was loooking for updates/ info pertaining to the postponed open
capital sectionals. This north-eastern storm will be worse than 2
weeks ago when we were cancelled for "damp" fields.

What do people know? thanks.

I believe I read somewhere that they have back up emergency fields
that we will play on no matter what (save lightning).

Ha, yeah, that dew looked pretty wicked 2 weeks ago... As far as I
understand it we've got to play this weekend no matter what.
Regionals is scheduled for Oct 4-5, so we've got to get our games
played. I'm assuming we'll just get scattered to random fields across
the DC Metro area. Should be a lot of fun...

As of Monday the word from the SC was...

"Sectionals will be played this weekend, even if it's raining. For all
planning purposes, you can assume sectionals will be going on this
weekend no matter what. Barring any freak lightning storms, we will do
everything we can to finish the tournament this weekend. We are in the
process of securing backup fields in case the Poolesville site closes.
I will send out information on the backup field plan as it gets
finalized. "

If the games are lightninged out, I vote for the following placement
of teams:

1). Eastern Motors
2). Wiretap
3). Medicine Men
4). U of Md
5). Truck Stop
6). GW
7). BNOGO

They are now at the Polo fields that mixed sections used in Virginia.
(I think their regionals are also there) I heard the fields were
pretty nice and all games will be located together. Not bad for an
emergency field.
This is way better than the cow pasture we played in two years ago due
to rain.
Well done: Dnoll and whoever else helped during this rain suck
situation
