Who is there with stories to tell. Awesome games? Awesome plays?
Just hearing about why Sockeye and Goat placed as they did for Friday
is getting boring.
Come on those of you who are lucky enough to be in Sarasota (where
Obama had a big rally today BTW), give us some details...

I got some great stories to tell.

I bunch of yahoos who think they're good ultimate players played their same
stupid mediocre offenses they've been running for years and the action was
unwatchable.

Oh yeah, they all cheated too.

Funny. It's the story of Frank as told by Frank in one sentence,
although must have some ego to refer to himself in plural.

What Frank doesn't understand is that whatever you think of the rules
if the rules are such and people play pursuant to the rules
successfully they can't be bad at that game. For instance if chess
allowed punches to your opponent's face and Mike Tyson happened to be
the best chess player in the world you could complain about the rules,
but you can't dispute that within the rules Mike Tyson is money with
the sicilian defense and a right hook.

PoNY was up 8-5 at half against Sub Zero (according to uv footage).
Then lost 15-9. That's a 10-1 run by Sub Zero. Anybody there see what
happened? How did PoNY deal with the game slipping away (did they
battle, or melt down)?

No, I'm talking about the 11th edition.

Shall we count the number of traveling violations Sunday?

Or how about the number of fouls where the violator could have avoided
contact (the 11th edition still does say that players are supposed to avoid
all possible contact).

Sub Zero also barely lost to Chain and Ironside losing both by only 2.
I see them taking 5th.

everyone cheating as well.

Unofficially speaking, 1,500 traveling violations today. 250 travel
calls. Let's make travels an active call made by the observers
because this will result in fewer stoppages of play and a faster game
pace. I know this will be the result because someone said so.

The final was actually 15-11. I have some details up in my write up,
but PoNY was definitely impressive. They are a much better team than
the 15-5 score against Chain would suggest. They definitely ran out
of gas and ran into a Chain squad that was firing on all cylinders.

Sub Zero's D squad is their key to success. If they can demonstrate a
little more patience after creating turnovers (something they can do
against almost anyone), they can beat anyone. They are primed for a
big win tomorrow, but they'll unfortunately have to contend with a
difficult crossover (Sockeye, GOAT, Ironside, Jam) if they can get by
Truck Stop and Machine.

You really don't get it do you Joe.

On July 4th, I went up to Seattle to play against Sockeye with a torn
meniscus and having only played a half dozen times over the previous year.

I was unstoppable Joe. Get it? Do you understand what that means?

A 48 year old man, out of shape and unstoppable against the National Champs.

They put their best lock-down defenders on me. I shook them off like fleas.

For anyone with an open mind who was there (obviously you weren't), it was
obvious who the best player on the field was.

I polished off the event with the only lay-out D out of either team.

Chase Sparling-Beckley came up to me after the game and said "dude, you
embarrassed us".

I realize that it's a very bitter pill for you to swallow Joe, but you're
wrong about me and you've always been wrong about me. You know NOTHING
about this game.

You've proven yourself to be a complete putz.

you are as deluded as john mccain. none of what you say is true, with
maybe the exception of what chase said, i didn't hear it. my guess is
he was just BSing you.

i've said it before and i'll say it again. frank, you suck at
ultimate. everyone that plays with you knows it. everyone that's
watched you knows it. one layout block means nothing, rookie college
kids get them all the time. you have a super limited skill set aside
from pimping yourself. you are a joke. you will lose the election
just like you lose 94% of the games you play. you bring nothing to
any team you play on except for derision.

you are a fool of an old man.

From Sarasota: Mike Grant went up for a disc four seconds early, but
kept going up and up so that it looked like he was going to catch it.
Then Karl Doege leapt from the sidelines to sky Mike, then greatested
himself back to the sideline and left the disc still in the air. Mike
Grant still did not catch it, though, because Karl added so much
rotation to the disc that it tore Mike's rotator cuff before slicing
into the ground and becoming imbedded. Plus everyone cheated.

Frank - I cam across this quote recently that made me think of you:

"But the fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that
all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they
laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright brothers. But they also
laughed at Bozo the Clown."

great idea....lets turn those observers into refs in this one
particulat rule enforcement dynamic. but we got to have the proper
deterant so that there is incentive to obey the rule. But
c'mon.....we all know the upa is too soft to incorporate such cutting
edge ideas. good thing we got C1 (fingers crossed)

This really is getting old. I'm not even sure why I'm replying, but I
feel like someone who was there needs to at least give some
perspective (even if it has been beat into the ground).

No, Frank, you were not unstoppable. In fact your defense was pretty
terrible. I watched the entire game. One poach, awkward layout D
does not forgive an entire game of leaving your mark open, calling for
switches way late after you were beaten deep and under over and over
again. The best player on the field was that Wormser guy. The only
reason you DIDN'T have any turn overs were the amazing catches by your
teammates. You put them in difficult situations by throwing up wobbly
lame duck high releases. You had almost no forward movement on any of
your discs and were anything but what I or any of the other bystanders
would describe as "unstoppable."

The funny thing is that I have failed as I am responding to your
endless trolling. I don't know what is special about today other than
I haven't had any coffee yet, but years of ignoring you has finally
come to an end. I assure you this will be the first and only time I
will respond in kind to your trolling-- enjoy it.

While I'm at it, I wholly support your new disc sport endeavors. I
only oppose the venomous and hateful way in which you try to promote
it. I feel like there is a rift between the average RSD poster and
Frank, and I don't know who threw the first punch but certainly it has
gotten out of hand. You must realize that, Frank. It seems like
you're a relatively intelligent guy. I'm only asking that you
reconsider your tactic as it has turned myself and countless others
away from something that could potentially be good for disc sports.

Joe,

I saw an awesome game: Fury beat Riot after trailing 10-1 in what is
arguably the greatest comeback in Ultimate history. Unbelievable. Oh
by the way, I saw that awesome game LIVE while sitting on my own couch
in my own house in California. How freaking cool it that!?!?! Thanks
again to the folks who made that happen!
