my friend does freelance Onion headlines. Since its all about the
headlines, there's no way this article would have ever made it

Found this quote about Annika Sorenstam playing golf with the men in
2003.

Martha Burk, National Council of Women's Organizations: "For an
individual player to challenge herself is an interesting sidebar. But
in the broader sense, I am not an advocate of integrating sports. It
would destroy women's sports. What's the point of putting women at a
natural disadvantage? We're not idiots, we know there are physical
differences between men and women."

Does anyone actually think they have a chance? If this is true of
course. What a training this would be though. Play in mens tournaments
until sectionals and then play women's.

i don't think they would fare so well against even average teams...if the conditions were fairly windy they could probably beat a lot of mens teams that don't have experienced throwers...

as badass as they are as women ultimate players, as open players i think they're fairly limited

There are some instances of this working out in the past:

My wife played club open for a while, only because the local women's
team collapsed. She was low on the subbing list, but played
nonetheless. It was the best thing she ever could have done for her
game, it made her game faster, smarter, and more intense in every
way.

Also, notably, #9 from Brute Squad played open in college (I'm pretty
sure, I remember playing against her at Regionals, she played for
Oregon State).

Back in my Reed College days, the Whitman women's team would come to
our little round robin tourney and soundly kick our butts. They were
the only women's team there. I'm sure it was great practice for them.

Ozone used to practice against mens teams in the late 80's. We had to
ditch our power game and work the disc to make it worthwhile. Lots of
fun and I think it helped them.
