Not sure if this would be copyright infringement and I don't mean to step on UltiVillage's toes, but I can't use QT on my computer and would dearly love to watch some of the highlights from this weekend. Has anyone converted them somewhere, and if so, where? Alternatively, could UV use a different format?

Thanks

Holier than thou. And by that I mean I got more holes.

Yeah, not to be nitpicky, but I think most people would probably prefer the videos to be Flash format... I had to install Quicktime yesterday on the computer I was using just to watch them. Frankly, I dunno why these weren't just posted on YouTube, either on the UPA's channel or the UVtv channel.

You might try searching Google for an online video converter, and then just upload the video and it'll spit out some output in whatever file format you choose. I think I've had some success with this in the past.

Just curious, how can you not use quicktime on your computer?
Quicktime is a free application, and it's pretty near universal. i'd
be willing to bet Rob does his editing in Final Cut Pro, meaning
Quicktime is the way to go (and almost the ONLY way to go with how
Apple's codecs work).

The UPA should put everything up on youtube, since it's hosted off of
the UPAs website, helping with bandwidth. They should also put it
there so that people searching for Ultimate might stumble across it.
They should also put it there because the youtube interface looks
significantly better than the UPA website interface. They should also
put it there because they aren't doing anything to protect the videos
from being downloaded on their own website, so they might as well make
it free. They should also put the videos on youtube because there
isn't a media page on the UPA's main web page, so their UPA youtube
page should be the number one place to go to get media from them.
They should also put all their past nationals videos up on youtube
because it's a logical thing to do. They should also put all their
videos up on youtube because it's the 21st century and there is no
reason not to.

The only reason i can think not to put them on youtube is because it's
really difficult.

This thread, in a way, answers itself by way of its subject line. If
you're on a PC and don't want Apple very bloated Quicktime package,
Google "Quicktime Alternative" for a package of codecs and a player
that are compatible with Quicktime but without all the crap. DO YOU
WANT TO UPGRADE TO QUICKTIME PRO? YES no. It's also a much smaller
package, and open source/freeware.

No actually the reason I can't use QT is that I'm at work and don't have admin privileges to download software. Can't think of a good reason that I need it, so I guess I'll just have to wait until I get home.

Boo hoo.

I gotta agree with Matt Johnson, though.
