The article which was on the-huddle.org yesterday (taken down now)
stated that one of the big problems is how the number of bids from
regionals to nationals are allocated. I.e., there have been several
teams in the past few years who did not get a bid to natties, while
weaker teams from other regions did get bids due to things not really
relating to skill, like size of the regions and last years finishes.

I don't necessarily agree with this but it was one of the problems
stated.

Oh I don't know why they would take down the release...
The Huddle site just says:
"Cultimate has asked that we take down today's press release in lieu
of a joint statement they will be making with the UPA, which is
forthcoming shortly. We will have that statement for our readers here
on The Huddle as soon as it is available."
That obviously doesn't tell you why they took it down
