After extensive consultation with our community and vested parties, the Community for Pittsburgh Ultimate (CPU) Board has voted to pursue an Executive Director to oversee and grow CPU and to fulfill its mission. This is will be a full-time position.

TITLE: Executive Director
REPORTS TO: Community for Pittsburgh Ultimate Board of Directors

General Summary: The Community for Pittsburgh Ultimate (CPU) seeks a motivated and visionary leader to manage and accelerate the growth of Ultimate Frisbee in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. The Executive Director will be the face of the organization within the broader community. The selected candidate for this role will support the operations of the organization and will seek to improve the quality of CPU events.

Principal Responsibilities
· Recruit, hire and manage all staff and volunteers, including tournament directors, league commissioners, team captains, etc.
· Plan, market, organize, and implement local Ultimate leagues, clinics, camps, and tournaments, including managing the operational budgets for each event and/or project
· Manage outreach for all youth programs including, but not limited to, school gym demonstrations, meetings with school administrators, school-based awareness events
· Improve profitability of CPU events, establish new revenue sources, and pursue sponsorships and grants
· Manage the upkeep of the CPU office as well as the organization, purchasing, sales, and distribution of merchandise
· Keep track of equipment/materials and track and manage rentals
· Communicate with CPU constituents through CPU web properties and social media
· Pursue usage of local athletic fields for CPU teams and events, advocating for needed improvements and appropriate maintenance. Coordinate with field managers
· Work to expand the reach of the CPU geographically, by age, and to new audiences
· Create and foster relationships with existing programs and organizations with similar goals to further the mission of CPU
· Draft, update, and document policies and procedures for the CPU and individual events
· Create committees, based on need, that further specific interests of the Pittsburgh Ultimate Frisbee community at large
· Attend CPU Board of Director meetings to report on the progress of organizational goals and work with the Board to determine budgets and deadlines
· Maintain positive relationships and effectively address questions and concerns of constituents (players, parents, coaches, volunteers, organizers and sponsors).

Required Qualifications
· Knowledge, experience, and understanding of the sport of Ultimate
· Experience in nonprofit organization management or program management
· Experience in financial accounting or managing project budgets
· Experience in establishing policies and procedures for an organization
· Ability to manage time, work independently, and manage multiple projects
· Strong decision-making skills and ability to delegate tasks to staff and volunteers
· Strong interpersonal skills, conflict resolution skills, and ability to considerately choose communication style and content based on the situation and person(s) involved
· Computer skills - Internet and email software proficiency, as well as Microsoft Office proficiency; experience with basic image editing software strongly preferred
· Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment with people of varying age groups and backgrounds
· Ability to work in a team, as well as to be self-directed and able to work with little or no direct supervision on individual projects

· Experience in a leadership position within the sport of Ultimate strongly preferred
· Experience in procuring sponsorships and/or grants strongly preferred

· $34,000 per year, paid monthly. Potential for performance-based salary raises and based on findings of annual reviews
· $150/month stipend for health insurance policy of choice
· No structured vacation policy
· Laptop/mobile computer
· Reimbursement for criminal background checks, child abuse clearances

Minimum Position Guidelines
· Must be available to work occasional weekends and holidays; weekly hours will vary based on scheduled programs; must be available for overtime when needed
· Must have a valid driver's license, consistent access to a vehicle, and have the ability to operate a vehicle to use for work-related travel (mileage reimbursed)
