The traditional CHS Varsity vs Alumni game on Thanksgiving night at the original Ultimate “parking lot” in Maplewood, NJ was held again. This game has been held every year since it started in 1970 making it the oldest known still running Ultimate event in the world.

Here is a link to the longest running US tournaments with the CHS Thanksgiving game at the top. Click on the CHS link to see annual results:

Joe, if you're keeping track of longest-running leagues on that page also (since it says "Tournaments/Events"), the Triangle NC Coed Winter League has been held every year since '88-'89. This year's is the 26th installment. It was founded by Joe Wolhar, Perry Sugg, and Brian Dobyns.

Other local historical disc details documented at http://tfda.org/triangle-ultimate/history

Josh,

Is the Triangle NC Coed Winter League a typical league with multiple teams playing each other over a period of a few months? If so, it doesn't fit into my list of once a year tournaments/events/games.

Perhaps someone else might want to step up and create a list of longest running leagues. I hope so.

Thanks,
Joe

It is indeed of that format. And I also hope someone does step up to chronicle the style.
