WHOA!!!!
HOLD ON>>>>>>>>>

at 1:45....the new thrower steps to the goal line.....and does NOT lean down and senselessly tap the disc on the ground for no reason at all!!!!!!!!!!

he didn't tap the disc on the ground.......and yet.......the game continued on????
how is that possible?????

hold on....i've got to go back and see how many people were confused.

oh my god...no one was confused....the d was hopping on their toes...ready to play D.
the O was cutting...

the play looked "CLEAN"
the play looked "ELEGANT"
there was no confusion.
folks seemed to know play was still going on despite a turnover in the endzone, where, i suppose, everyone forgets how to play ultimate and needs a thrower to lean down and tap the disc on the ground to remind them that they're in the middle of a game....

UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
the ground tap....again proven...to be useless and unnecessary to improve the game.
abolish the ground tap.......

AWESOME D at about the 2:30 mark.....skying d on a near full field huck.
the defender BARELY gets there in time.

wanna guess WHY the defender made it there JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME???????
i mean...the defender is BEAT.
how does he make up those steps?

oh.......i see....because back at 2:27.....the new thrower....has to lean down for no reason and tap the disc on the ground while the marker is stalling and the defender is catching up to the open cutter.......

why in the world do the rules FORCE a thrower to give up the advantage of.....hell.....the advantage of being the thrower on offense.......to make them lean down and tap the disc on the ground for no reason?

stupidest rule in ALL of sports.

who came up with that idea(Colin)?????

whoa....i like all those 'after thought' ground taps......well after goals.....probably after the camera-person said..."hey, ground tap for the video"

that looked like a lot of fun.

those post goal ground taps.....looked fun.....but are equally as useless for the game and for the sport.....except for the fun it looked like they were having.

---i believe that he may very well be fast.
BUT....if there wasn't some dumb unnecessary made up no reason rule that forces a thrower to lean down and tap the disc on the ground and take away the advantage of being on offense....the thrower would have had the extra split second.....and would have completed the pass by that tiny lean down and tap the disc on the ground for no reason margin.

But...he DID present the disc to the defender for a defensive check.

I think your definition of "the nick of time" is a lot different from mine, given that both players slowed down significantly to wait for the disc and the defender was able to D the disc out of bounds before the offensive player had any chance to make a play. Poorly timed cut/poorly thrown huck, nothing to do with the check.

You are REALLY working hard to find ways to talk about that rule.
