And why shouldn't they? They kicked the shit out of Mississippi State
B a few weeks ago. Actually, the UPA website says they only one by
two, but most of the people who saw the game said that it was pretty
much all Pimps, all the time, so...

Why is Notre Dame listed as Notre Dame-X for Mardi Gras when they

There will be no Rage juniors attending Mardi Gras. So the team is a
little different.

My guess would be that since they had a tournament the weekend before
they might have had problems getting their full team to go to Mardi
Gras. They might be missing enough of their star players to call it
an X team. Just a guess.

What happened to the Co-ed pools? They were up but then were taken

Made predictions for QCTU (which ended up very, very wrong), so I
figured why not try again. Power Pools only for time's sake.

Pool A:
Notre Dame: Unlike Florida, Wisconsin, Colorado, etc, no player on
this Notre Dame team has ever worn the bullseye on their back. It will
be interesting to see how they handle it. Being short some players
could provide some mental ease, since the "this isn't the real team"
mentality allows for disappointments to be more easily shrugged off.
Illinois: Nationals Quarters last year? My prediction-- that was a
different team. Without Korbesmeyer, the fighting Illini lose more
than they win. TiV is a poor basis for predictions, but everyone was
in the same conditions, and UofI only won 2.
Texas: With Michigan, provided the best game at nationals last year.
This year? Don't know much, but their legacy program (and Stephen
Presley) should carry them.
UCF: Seriously? This pool is just plain mean. 5 points from going
6-1 at Warm-Up, the Dogs of War will give every team above a game.
Georgia Tech: I hope you had fun at Discs over Georgia, because on
Saturday at Mardi Gras, you are going to get worked.

A RESULT: Three-way tie between Texas, Illinois, and UCF for the pool,
with Texas coming out on top. ND gets 4th, GT gets pwned.

Pool B:
Wisconsin: The question mark. Wisconsin has players that can flat
play the game, but are missing their cornerstones somehow. Another
missing element-- the Wisconsin energy and intensity. These guys used
to just seem to play their own game, and it was consistently focused
and super intense, disregarding the scoreboard. TiV saw a team without
this intensity, so this tourney ought to serve as a measuring stick as
to whether they can regain what they had or not.
Texas State: Little past results, save for "Bid D in Little D,"
which they won. Their game against Wisconsin could be awesome.
FSU: Losses to Kennesaw St and Emory, as well as absolute trouncings
by Virginia and UNC, do not do FSU any favors.
Tennessee: Could surprise people. Win over Georgia-Y, utterly
dominating T-Town Throwdown, welcome back Tennessee.
Minnesota: Weird TiV scores, crazy weather, who knows. However,
Minnesota's program has been building considerably.

B RESULT: Texas St takes the pool. Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Tennessee
in a three-way tie for 2, with Minnesota taking 2nd and Wisco taking
3rd. FSU 5th.

Pool C:
Michigan: seems the clear favorite, with a relatively strong showing
at Queen City (only dgp losses to Ohio State and UNC).
Iowa St: interesting one to watch. MLC had them beat WashU and Tx
State to go to semis, only to fall to Colorado big. We'll see.
UNT: A fan favorite, they've always got athleticism, but do they
have the discipline to bring it to win it. Definitely a wild card,
could win it all, or vice versa.
Dartmouth: Works hard, but it doesn't always work. Don't know much,
except they lost to Middlebury, Williams, and Conn in late January,
without knowing the conditions, the team they brought, etc.
VA Tech: Beat Virginia, but nobody else. Well, Wake Forest and
Clemson. And a bunch of teams at Vegas. But nobody except for Virginia
that will make me say they'll run the pool.

C RESULT: Michigan is challenged consistently, but holds strong to the
pool. UNT earns the second place, Dartmouth takes third, and VA Tech
fourth.

No idea how things pan out after this.

Semis:
Texas St v Michigan
Wisconsin v Texas

Finals:
Michigan v Wisconsin, Michigan's depth carries them to the win.

Rage might not have a full roster, but they do have Lonnie. He may
only be 5'2", but his fire red hair gives him magic layout powers.

Look out for Grinnell this weekend. They're coming off a big win over
1 seed Wisconsin B at MLC and will be just about insane from the 15-
hour drive. Also, they're taking 4 first years who will combine for
approximately 0 points and at least 1 torn ACL if history is any
indicator. The real question is, who is going to be as drunk this
year as Tulane was last year?

If history holds strong, doesn't playing Texas A&M at mardi gras
garuntee a broken collar bone?

Ahh yes, the man has certainly done his research. Indeed, Grinnell
will most likely experience two season / career ending injuries while
eating more jambalaya than previously thought possible by one team.

Who said RSD is dead? I love it.

That Brian Victor Korbesmeyer is so fuckin talented that he can be on
the sideline watching and still get and1's with that lefty huck. That
shit is right!

In all seriousness, when was the last time we could say the Mardi Gras
check wasn't Wisconsin's to lose?

High Level (Florida-B) is traveling in an RV...I'm putting the odds at
3:5 that they make it to Baton Rouge and back without catastrophe!

Also...I predict someone on Grinnell will freak out in the middle of
the game and threaten to stop playing because someone on the other
team is cursing...not at anybody on Grinnell, but at people on his own
team.

Power Pools In Predicted Finish

A:
Texas
Central Florida
Georgia Tech
Notre Dame-X
Illinois (Tie)

B:
Wisconsin
Texas State (Tie)
Florida State (Tie)
Minnesota
Tennessee

C:
Michigan
North Texas
Iowa State
Virginia Tech
Dartmouth

Winner:
Texas

Darkhorse:
North Texas
