Nebraska doesn't show up for the tournament. Will the Conference lose one of their 5 bids to Regionals?
Also, any news on why the team didn't show up? They basically had a guaranteed bid to the North Central.

The were on spring break in Georgia, and collapsed the roof of the party house. They owe the University thousands of dollars now, and some of their best players are injured.

For a more expansive explanation:
Both clubs (open and women's) were suspended from travel after spring break for "representing the university in a negative manner" which is also why Nebraska women had to bail from Chicago invite 3 days before.
At spring break they had like 10 or 15 people dancing in a room on the second story and the floor beams basically cracked. The floor was bowed and the ceiling in the level below had cracks and stuff. (they fess up to that but apparently also included were a cracked window, ruined pots and pans and "condoms left in the waste baskets")
The homeowners wrote a letter to the chancellor of the university and well, yeah. Like $9000 in damages or something. Also got in trouble for violating the lease with too many residents, etc.
Tbh, definitely at fault but it is a bummer that the entire clubs got shut down since barely more than half of each club went so they still could have fielded teams for sectionals. Also I know that people dancing and such can cause a strain but I don't think a house floor should be cracking under that weight.
Also sucks for the ladies since their senior class are the founding members and they have some all-region talent.

As one of the Northern Iowa players who helped organize the tournament. We did not know Nebraska wouldn't be there until right before game time. We called the number they gave us when they submitted their bid, and they relayed this tale at around 9am that Saturday.
