UP LOGO CONTEST!! We are opening up the contest again. We had some
awesome entries but we did not find "the one" yet. We would like to
invite you or someone you know to submit a logo entry for this second
(and hopefully last) round. We learned a great deal from the first
round- the guidelines below are a direct result of that process.

Again, the winner will receive a gift basket of high end UP gear and
their image will be attributed to the artist on our website. The logo
will be splashed on all our materials, all over our website, and on
all our gear and discs.

If you do choose to submit, please read these suggestions carefully.

1. We are looking for a simple, elegant, not-too-busy design that can
be used on letterhead, stitched/sewn on bags, and printed on jerseys
and shorts.
2. We are looking for designs that do not necessarily reflect any part
of our original design (peace sign with two players outstretched).
3. We are hoping the design will communicate ideas from our mission,
like building bridges, making friendships, developing understanding
through Ultimate Frisbee, etc...
4. No other words are necessary beside Ultimate Peace.
5. Since our work is not only in the Middle East, the image should not
be specific to that or any region - if anything international global
focus is best.
6. Other images besides peace signs, doves, two fingers would be
preferred.

The new deadline will be midnight on February 24th. All entries should
go to info@ultimatepeace.org

Thank you again for you help and patience!!!

Would a cartoon image of Peter playing tug-of-war against the kids using a $100 bill as rope with Kenny D officiating be too much?

Probably not what you are looking for. Too complicated and not sending a message of peace.

You'll bump UP, but not donate to UP when you lose a very public bet.

classy.

i like how he keeps saying everyone knows he's right when pretty much everyone is telling him he's wrong. very wrong. he reminds me of crazy frank, except he's stealing from children instead of himself.

I think ole Peter just really, really wants Kenny's address. real bad. it would likely be the very most interesting thing in the whole disc sports library he keeps yammering about given his choice of video attachments.

"ask anyone who knows anything about placing bets"

ask anyone who knows anything about integrity, and they are likely to tell you to pay up on your $100.

Easy way to end this: did you pay up yet?

It would be one thing if you objected to UP and therefore refused to send payment there. But since you clearly support them, why not man up?

The 1/2 payment to UP is "in the mail" as they say. I'm saving the last 50 lambtongues for AZ-1 Kenn D. himself.

the most Fieriest of players in the history of ultimate wins a bet with you and asks that you send the payment to an ultimate frisbee organization and you try to dictate terms?

interesting.

Since you seem to be all about the exact details of the bet, did you send him 50 US dollars or did you actually go to the butcher and purchase 50 lambtongues (as the bet specified)?

Jeremy,

"lambtongues" is slang for $$ in some jazz musician circles.

To be precise, it's slang often used by many Art Blakey & the Jazz Messenger alumni. Just one of many favorite slang words I've picked up over the past ~ 17 years while working for a non-profit jazz concert production company here in Columbia MO. ( nat'l pastimes productions ).

His point is you are fine with your slang, but want to get incredibly technical in terms of KD.

Stop stealing from children. And stop emailing me.

Ultimate Peace is a great organization accomplishing wonderful things to bring more understanding to youth in conflict around the world. Using this thread to rehash a silly argument is not helping Ultimate Peace.

Let's get serious and send logo suggestions!

Joe, we're rehashing a "silly argument" about a bet. a bet that Peter lost to Ken. Ken has requested that he send the money to Ultimate Peace. Peter has some stick up his ass about sending it to Kenny.

by rehashing this "silly argument" we're trying to get $100 to Ultimate Peace. How is that not helpful?

of course you would see it that way.

It's also keeping the thread towards the top of RSDnospam... that helps too.

Since people stopped rehashing the old argument and Joe "Buzzkill" Siedler's request, this post has steadily fallen down the page.

so . . . Peter, you send that money in yet? the full $100?

dear fan,

See my last post on the subject...

But i'm still waiting for nyc bad boy kd Lame to send me his mailing address for the other $50 (as per betting protocol,etc.).

i brought this subject up last night with a sports coordinator here on the mizzou campus ....and he laughed heartily at the broo ha ha of it all...loudly.

"If you owe this ny ultimate dynasty guy a $100 from a bet and he won't send you his mailing address...it ends there. You have no obligation to send the money anymore else. Even if he wants you to donate it to help pay the utility bill for St. Teresa's eternal flame. Tell him to stick a sock in it."

This is a guy who played ultimate at a IL campus (Edwardsville) in the mid-1970s ....and later became a coach of a sports team on that campus.

He has lived and breathed sports before your mama met your papa Fan guy.

get over yourself...but have a good weekend on that end.

Props to all involved in the Ultimate Peace effort.

Sincerely,
Peter Mc

No one gives a shit. I'm not obligated to hold the door for old ladies but I still do it because it's the right thing to do. Don't bother to reply unless you're going to explain how donating to UP is worse than holding a door for a lady.

All this proves is that your friend is a schmuck, too.

glad you sent UP $50. That seems to suggest you think KD's generous, charitable suggestion was at least half right. Hopefully, you'll man up & send the other $50.

it sounds as if he is actually a decade or so younger than my folks, who met in the early 70's, creating me a handful of years later.

keep in mind. there are things that are known, and things that are unknown. it is known that you have some sort of wierd fascination with not honoring the wishes of someone you lost a bet to. also known is that you are a wierdo, which explains why your fascination is wierd.

the age and dating history of my parents is unknown to you. thus some things can be spoken about and others only conjectured about. incorrectly. when one conjectures about something of which they have zero knowledge on a public forum, they are not rewarded for their bold stab in the dark, they look like a dipshit. as you do again.

Quote:
get over yourself...

once again, you speak of things you know nothing of. all who know me know that me getting over me is highly unlikely. the folks instilled a strong sense of self worth.

David,
RSD has mostly become a waste of time. It's degenerated over the years into a fun place for the few to mouth off... I guess because their families won't put up with them at home.

I hope you figure out a place to get good ideas for the new Ultimate Peace logo. But don't take your thread hijacking personal. Those few who dominate RSD enjoy hijacking as many threads as they can. They probably have an annual hajj to their 2 leaders - Toad and Toaddy2.
